Axios - Assyst

Axios Systems are based in Edinburgh , Scotland .  They are a medium sized company, with a medium sized customer base.

Assyst is a reasonably strong tool.  The Graphical User Interface (GUI) is now starting to look a bit tired, but does the job well enough.  Assyst has a reasonable amount of customisation allowing administrators to relabel fields and add new fields, but does not allow individual users to tailor the product.

With the new version of Assyst comes a new version of Axios’ Change Management module.  This was a particularly weak area in the last version of Assyst, but unfortunately ITILPeople have not had a chance to evaluate the new version.   However it does reflect well on Axios that they have recognised and addressed their weaknesses.  How completely they have done this remains to be seen.

Axios interfaces to all the major alerting tools and can generate incidents from alerts received.  It uses a traffic light arrangement to alert the user of possible or existing SLA breaches which many users like the look and feel of.  A web front end is available and this works well with the main product, providing some of the functionality seen in the main client.

ITILPeople.com believe that overall, Assyst is a solid product which is capable of doing the job well.
