What is ITIL?
N is for....

nth-line support A group who are performing a higher level of support call in another group to assist them.
Nanosecond Nanosecond is a time measure used to represent computing speed, in particular the speed at which electrical signals travel through circuits within the computer.
Network Access Point An interchange point for Internet traffic, for example where various Internet network carriers and major ISPs exchange data.
Network Address Translation The process of converting between IP addresses used within an intranet or other private and Internet IP addresses.
Network Data Management Protocol An open protocol for network-based backups of file servers that allows platform-independent data storage.
Network Driver Interface Specification A software interface, or set of rules, designed to enable different network protocols to communicate with a variety of network adapters. This provides a standard, or common language, for the drivers used by network adapters so enabling a single network adapter to support multiple protocols. Conversely, this also enables a single protocol to work with network adapters from different vendors.
Network News Transfer Protocol A standard on the Internet used to distribute news articles and query news servers.
Non Destructive Readout A reading operation that does not destroy the data read, either because the storage technology is capable of retaining the data or because the reading operation is accompanied by a data refresh, update, function.
Notional Charging A technique whereby a Customer is informed of what the charge would be for the service used, although no actual funds change hands; often used as a stage in the introduction of full charging to an organisation.
